Freight invoice self-audit

See what your carriers would rather you did not.

Drop in a CSV export of your carrier invoices and get an instant screen for the overcharges that hide in freight billing — duplicate invoices, inflated fuel surcharges, out-of-band accessorials, reclassification risk, and billing math errors.

Your data never leaves this page. Every invoice is parsed locally, in your own browser. This tool makes no network connection with your file — there is nothing to upload, store, or breach. We built it this way on purpose: we are a cybersecurity firm, and we do not want your data. How to verify this yourself →

Expected columns include invoice_number, carrier, base_charge, fuel_surcharge, accessorial_charges, total_charge, weight_lbs, freight_class. Column names are matched flexibly.

This is a surface scan. The recoverable total is usually larger.

This screen flags anomalies visible in your invoice data alone. A full Hawthorne audit cross-checks your contracted rates, carrier-specific tariff rules, and accessorial agreements — where the bigger recoveries live. We typically work on contingency, so a review costs you nothing up front.

About this screen. Results are diagnostic indicators based on common freight billing anomaly patterns, not a confirmed recovery amount or audit opinion. Flagged charges are line items worth a closer review. Thresholds (fuel-surcharge benchmark, accessorial limits, weight/class ratios) are configurable by Hawthorne for your carrier mix. All processing occurs locally in your browser; no invoice data is transmitted or retained.
